Did the translators get Hebrews 13:17 right? are we to obey our leaders or are we suppose to be persuaded by our leaders? I think we can't just read the Bible but we must also study the Greek words and the true meanings of them. It doesn't matter what version of the Bible you read, none are 100% correct for word to word.
Peitho is the word used in Hebrews 13:17 and the W.E. Vine dictionary defines the word to mean to be persuaded.
The Bible used a different Greek word for Obeying which is the word hupakouo. Which means to listen,attend, submit, or to obey for example Hebrews 5:9.
Church leaders are to persuade the saints not ruler over them.
